Have you ever had the feeling that no matter what you do every day, nothing is actual being done? Or things are still incomplete. Things just go on forever. Your day feels like there is so much to do, but you never know where your time actually disappeared. I’ve had that feeling for a long time and it only seems to get worse when the major things that you have to do just keep on increasing. It is just exhausting and breaks both the mind and the body at the end of the day. The feeling over the next day that you have so much to do and you don’t really look forward to doing it. Your career suffers, your relationships suffer, your social life suffers. It’s nothing but filled with miserable. And to top it all you lose all motivation to do anything at all.
But as for me being the power type I did not give up even if it meant burning out, and then finally I found the way after going through tons of motivational videos and reading self help and improvement books. The first thing which I came across was simplifying everything down to the bare minimum. What it means is that breaking down huge daunting tasks to small bite size pieces so that you don’t lose motivation when you look at the potential of completing those tasks.
The second thing which I came across was recognising decisions and tasks that you take on a regular basis, and how many of these decisions and tasks are just mundane ones. The sort which keep repeating in a cycle everyday. Once you recognise those decisions and tasks, you need to try to eliminate them to the best possibility. An example would be which clothes do you wear tomorrow? Just line up the list of clothes and pair them over the weekend, and over the week you don’t have to decide what to wear. Or it could be, what should I prepare for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Make a menu of things you can prepare over the weekend, shop according to that menu, and set them up for the week.
There, you already reduced your financial stress, and amount of wasted food by doing a preparation and you also reduced your decisions by a huge deal. If you are into business, outsource mundane tasks like calling people in sales or setting up your schedule or even researching simple material. These tasks will drain your energy and the time to do more relevant tasks and planning for the future become more difficult. Think in terms of priority and urgency and outsource tasks which have high urgency and low priority in terms of impact to someone who can do it for you, only much better.
Thus, these are but a few examples, where you can simplify the way you operate your day and as a cumulative your life. And I am happy to say that I have started applying these very principles to my own life and I have already seen leaps and bounds in terms of improvement as compared to how I used to handle myself and my priorities.
In the upcoming articles, I will detail even more on the very points that I’ve written here so that you too can utilize them to improve your own life. If you liked this article, please like, share and subscribe to my blog.
